And how exactly I need to start watching a stream through VLC? 
I tend to get some errors if I’m doing the traditional way.
For PC:
- You must have Ace Stream web extension and Magic Player installed and enabled, and then, on selected sites, you can run stream in other player (see attach from this post as example - No audio from 7.1 track when playing a torrent in Ace Player HD).
- You should add content ID/P2P file (.acelive, .torrent) to playlist in the web-ui of Ace Stream media/proxy server, and then you can start playback either directly from web-ui, or play it as playlist.
For Android:
- Ace Stream will ask you which player you want to use.
Right now I’m with Windows (I’m just watching if it works) and it only gives me option to play live streams only through Ace Player. .torrent files allow me to choose player. But when I will have Ubuntu installed and without Ace Player it should work. A big thank you for your help. Very appreciated.
So playing streams through VLC with acestreamplayer is no longer possible?
In the newer versions of Ace Stream Media - yes. We may add a built-in player to Linux releases in the future, but for now - engine only.
You can still play videos in VLC (or in any other supported player) as standalone player via Web Extension/Magic Player or via Media Server.
Товарищи, помогите пожалуйста. Хочу смотреть ace-стримы на linux. Но не могу.
Движек скачал. Распаковал. Работает.
А вот с плеером не знаю что делать. Репозиторий не подключается, пишет gpg-ключа ошибку. Добавлением описаным не помогает. Вот если бы можно было скачать просто архив с плеером, как с движком.
Или если бы можно было запустить через чистый VLC, как это реализовано в Android
Я быть может не правильно выразил свою проблему.
Torrent-файл передаются c браузера на установленный чистый VLC через расширение.
А вот ссылки начинающиеся с acestrram: нет
Попробуй установить из snap пакета. Там плеер идет в комплекте Тестируем ПО Ace Stream в snap пакете.

У меня сейчас на 17.10 работает. Все нормально.

По инструкции, только я не в /opt а в /home/user разместил, мне так удобнее

Еще иногда нужно удалять каталог cryptography перед запуском:
sudo rm -rf /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/cryptography

Be more specific - which “live streams” you want to watch: created within AceStream network, or third-party?

Third Party, I guess. Just lets say I want to watch this stream: 969dbafa76bbd0ca37d73629f392c83fcf9cc295.
Also, when I click on any of the elements in P2P search I always get “Failed to get content ID”.
Yes, and by “third-party” i mean streams from Twitch, YouTube, etc.
Checked it with AceStream HD player, Sky Sport F1 was successfully played.
Once more, be more specific - about your setup (hardware and software), on which step you have a problem, etc. We’re not espers, can’t remotely guess and solve problems.
My question is: how exactly do I start watching the stream? Ubuntu version doesn’t have the player (just the engine as I understand) where I could copy stream’s ID into. I can watch only torrent files because of the Web extension.
