Acestream-engine is using mDNS port 5353

Hello

I am using acestream engine for linux version “version:3.2.3 revision:be4471a”

by default, acestream engine is using port 5353 which is used for mDNS. mDNS is the service to resolve local devices in the same network.

This causes local devices not being able to find each other by name, and i need to fallaback to IPs since mdns port used by acestream.

Is there a way to change this port for whatever purpose it is used for in acestream.

is acesrteam using “SO_REUSEPORT” options to share the port with rest of the services on the pc? i am using systemd-resolved it seems like it does share by default systemd/src/shared/socket-label.c at 6235121abf359cd6070d678046c032af91873bca · systemd/systemd · GitHub (no so sure though…)

Yes. Ace Stream engine itself do not prevent other services to listen on 5353 port, and I can see exported services from this device via mdns on another PC in network.
Which mdns daemon/client you’re using? Did you try to (re)start mdns daemon after Ace Stream engine is up and running?
