Installer fails on Windows because of old installation

Ace_Stream_Media_3.2.8.exe

Ace Stream Media 3.2.8 Setup

You have already installed Ace Stream.
You must remove the old version before installing the new one. Please follow these steps:

Close all web browsers.

Close Ace Engine HD, if it is running. To do this, move the cursor to the icon of the plugin in the system tray, click it with the right mouse button, and then select menu «Exit».

Uninstall the old version of the plugin. You can do this from Control Panel, from the Start Menu under Ace Stream section, or by manually running Uninstall.exe from the folder where Ace Stream was installed.

WARNING! Before installing the new version of the plugin, please ensure that the folder in which older version was installed is absolutely empty.

I accidentally deleted %appdata%AceStream\ folder and then tried running the installer but it fails.

I already tried cleaning registry and folder leftovers but it still fails.

Any help?

Check under “Programs and components“ (or “HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall“ section in registry) - there should be no any mentions about “Ace Stream“. If so - use any third-part tools that can delete such records (ccleaner, for example) or delete with “regedit” manually.

This folder/files from it can be manually restored - Ace Stream installer is self-extracting archive with some control scripts, which can be opened with any advanced archiver (7-zip, for example).

thanks, that seemed to fix it (I was on a hunt in the registry and deleted several entries)
