Modified versions issue

Today I’m having issue with Acestream installed on my tablet.

It’s giving me this error: “You are using a modified version. To use it, activate premium account”

I don’t have the premium account, but I’m not using any kind of modified version and it was working without any issue up to 2 days ago.

I already tried unistalling and reinstalling, but it keeps giving the same error message.

What can I do to solve? App version is 3.2.17.1

If you absolutely sure that you’re using latest version from Google Store, this can be false positive - if app can’t connect to Ace Stream servers and get/verify license key, then you’ll get such error. Check your network/FW/AV settings - Ace Stream resources should not be blocked at any level.

Also you can help figure out this issue by sending app logs - just press “Send report“ button within app and mark it as “modified error“.

What happens with devices that don’t have Google Store (like Amazon Fire TV Stick) and users are not Premium?

Fire TV users should use older version of app with Premium plan for now. Issues with newer versions of AceStream app and Fire TV will be addressed in upcoming releases, but this is low priority task.

Older verson like which one?

Thank you for your reply! I’ve just sent the report called “Modified error”.

I’m 100% sure I got the latest version of the app from the Google Store, and I tried to reinstall from scratch twice, but I’m still getting this error:

Tablet is a Huawei T5, Android version 8.0.0

It’s depends on Fire TV/Fire OS version. See this topic, for example -Issue Starting Ace Stream on Firestick 4K 1st Gen

Ok, thank you. Android version on this tablet is pretty old, this also can trigger an issue.

Did you update Google framework (Google services, Google WebView, etc) on this tablet to recent version?

The Google framework is updated to the latest version compatible with Android 8.

Can you understand from the log file I send through the app if this is the cause of my issue?

@Benny As Fire TV users currently have to get a premium account in order to use Ace Stream (no matter the version we use) can we use the latest version? (3.2.17.1 for ARMv7). That’s what I’m using with a premium account and it’s working well (apparently) or you recommend another specific version for this device?

I have a Fire TV Stick 4K (2nd Gen) / FireOS 8.1.6.0

You can use any version which actually works on your device.

Hi Benny,

Any update on my issue? Have you seen something in the log file I send through the app?

Thank you!

Yes, update is underway, should be ready in few hours - update app and check if there any false positive about “modified version”.

Please try to install the most recent Ace Stream Pro version (3.2.18.0)

I tried and it works without any issue

Thank you very much for your support!!

Hola.
